In 2023 teaching consent in schools will be mandatory. 
For many schools this will be the first time teaching a consent curriculum and it can be daunting.

PB WEST designed the "Creating a Consent Cutlure"  curriculum in 2018. We have been teaching it in schools ever since, and every year we make it better and more relevant.
This is not some "tick the box" lecture style quick presentation that students sit through. These are interactive lessons where the students get to be involved, practice consent in one step removed scenarios, get to problem solve and explore consent as it is relevant to them.  These lessons are meaningful and can change interactions, challenge unwritten rules regarding consent and unhelpful perceptions, they are designed to embed consent culture, providing strategies for young people to bring consent practices into their everyday lives. The programs are specifically designed to equip staff and volunteers that work or engage with children and young people with the knowledge and skills to be able to teach, role-model and reinforce the messages of consent in a way that students feel safe and can walk away feeling empowered, with practical skills and strategies.​
